Suprise!

After we moved back to Colorado, Derrick got put in the bishopric and we found out we are expecting number 6!  I was really nervous that it was going to be twins again (my body is tired) but we found out it is just 1.  I kept saying that 1 would be really easy after having twins, but I am sure that having kids this close together will be challenging.  Sawyer and Briggs will be 17 months old when we have our new baby.  I feel like this is something that we can handle without me going crazy, but do you really know you are crazy when you are?  I may already be past the crazy part.  Overall, I am feeling pretty good.  I am tired most of the time, but I think that is just part of life right now.  I feel like we are definitely being blessed a lot and am excited to see what great things are going to come!

Life is great.  Homeschool is going well.  We are learning a lot about work and working together as a family.  It is a lot of work day in and out, but I think it is paying off.  We are planning on continuing homeschool through the summer to get ahead a little bit.  I am sure that we will take some time off when the baby comes.  We found a great program here in Aurora called Options.  It allows the kids to go to school 1 day a week from 9am to 3pm.  They do music, art, P.E., language arts, and science.  They attend with only homeschooled kids and I am very impressed at the level of things they are doing in science and the fun things they are doing in the other classes.  The boys are loving it and it is nice for them to get a little "class" time with peers.

Sawyer and Briggs Turn 1!!

Happy Birthday!  I actually dressed Sawyer and Briggs alike at church.  They were so loud and crazy.  I don't usually dress them alike, but it was really fun and they looked really cute.
See our lovely childproof railing?  Very colorful.  The babies are getting ready for cake.

We tried something a little different for cakes this time.  Everyone got to decorate their little racecars.  The boys all had fun.

 Party hats

Turner and Tony's creations.  They look pretty good huh?
Uncle Zac and Levi did their cars together.  I think Uncle Zac had fun too!
Briggs was the first to dig in.  He thought that cake was pretty tasty.
Sawyer had time to pose for the camera while eating.  He started throwing food earlier but I think Briggs ate more cake than he did.

After it was all over, we put them in a bath.  I knew they would make a mess, but wow.  I am suprised at how quickly they demolished a clean floor :)

Bath

It is fun to have all the boys in the bath.  Sawyer is a crazy man and splashes everyone but it is very efficient.  We can get a lot of baths done in a short amount of time :)

Easter

We went on an Easter Egg hunt at the church with some friends.  It was awesome.  It was a little windy, but overall the boys had fun and scored some great candy.

Sunday, we went up to my mom's house and I got a picture of Sawyer and Briggs waiting to sink their teeth into some yummy Easter dinner!  It was an awesome day.

Splinter

Levi got a splinter and I told him that we needed to get it out.  He wasn't too keen on that idea so he ran downstairs and hid.  About 20 minutes later, I remembered about the splinter (my memory isn't the best these days) and after combing through the house and backyard, Turner finally found him under the sink in the downstairs bathroom.  I really do try and get him to take naps.  I guess he just finds a spot and curls up when he is tired ;)
We got the splinter out and everything worked out fine.

Moving

Levi was trying to hitch a ride in the box before we left...how can this be comfortable?

We had SOO much help moving.  Everyone on both ends (Arizona and Colorado) were very helpful in getting us situated.  We couldn't have done it without you.  Our house was in pretty good shape.  A few things that we need to fix but overall, it could have been a lot worse so we are happy.
So I guess we didn't put the scissors away?  Turner gave himself a haircut.  I made him wear it for a week but I don't think he cared.

New haircut

Levi Turns 3!!!

Even though we were moving the next week, I decided to make a cake Levi would remember.  He loved his Spiderman cake.  Derrick helped frost this one :)  I think he did a good job!

Crazy Levi

This is Levi...wearing a 9 month old shirt backwards.  Need I say more?

Post bath

This is when the babies were starting to really move all over the place and we had to stop getting them dressed on our bed after bathtime.  It is hard to keep up with two wriggling boys.

Hiking

Tony and I went hiking with his Webelos pak.  It was really nice.  This is January.  I was suprised that there were mountains in AZ.  Nice scenery.

December 2011

Christmas morning...not sure why Levi is only in underwear and slippers...but hey?  I guess it isn't that cold in AZ.

Life happens

So I have realized that even though I don't keep up with my blog...life keeps happening.  It is crazy to see how much has already happened since we have moved back to Colorado and settled in.  I will try to catch up and get my posting done!

Moving

Hey Everyone!

Just wanted to write a quick note letting everyone know we are moving back to Colorado this week. It has been crazy and I haven't had much time to blog (as you can imagine) but I will try and get caught up with all the pictures and videos when we get settled.

Derrick's job got relocated back to Colorado. Pretty crazy huh? We are moving back into our old house (our renter was okay to move) and our ward and it will be like we were on a big vacation in sunny Arizona. We are very excited to be back (and yes, we are excited about the snow) but will miss an awesome community of people here in Arizona.

I hope to find as good of a homeschool group in Colorado as there is here (it is amazing here). We will miss being able to go to the grocery store in shorts and a t-shirt in the winter and being able to play outside all the time. We have a lot to be grateful for and excited about to be back in Colorado. We grew closer as a family and are very excited to introduce Sawyer and Briggs to all our Colorado friends!
